Spring 2024

LSA Recreational Baseball/Softball program is open to players attending Pre-Kindergarten (age 4 or older) through 7th grade. The goal of this program is to give young players an introductory understanding of the game in an organized and fun setting. All divisions will be coed. The season will run from April through June (weather permitting).

Single A (Pre-K)

T-Ball (Pre-K) will run from April 27, 2024 to June 22, 2024. In this league, players will hit from a tee. Games will be held on Saturdays at Spring Lake Park at either 1 or 2pm. There will not be practices held during the week. All players will be expected to provide their own glove, bat and helmet. Fee will be $175 ($150 early bird discount before March 15, 2024).

Double A (K-1st Grade)

Double A (Kindergarten – 1st grade) will run from April 22, 2024 to June 22, 2024. In this league coaches will pitch to the teams. Games will be held on Saturdays at Spring Lake Park at either 10 or 11am. Practices will be held one day during the week, Monday-Thursday, also at Spring Lake Park. All players will be expected to provide their own glove, bat and helmet. Fee will be $200 ($175 early bird discount before March 15, 2024).

Triple A (2nd-7th Grade)

Triple A (2nd grade-7th grade) will run from April 22, 2024 to June 22, 2024. Depending on participation, we will split the players into two separate leagues (2nd-4th and 5th-7th). In this league, players will be pitching to each other. Players will have a 1 to 2 week tryout period to estimate their abilities. If players are not comfortable with this league, they can move to Double A. Practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays with games on Saturdays. It is recommended that players participate at least 2 of the 3 days. All practices will be held at North Park. All players will be expected to provide their own glove, bat and helmet. Fee will be $225 ($200 early bird discount before March 15, 2024).

LSA Rules for T-Ball/Blastball (Kindergarten and Pre-K)

Baseball Bat Rules

There is a new safety standard that is being adopted by most baseball leagues. It involves lower compression bats that theoretically produce a lower spring effect when they make contact with the baseball. LSA will be adopting this new bat standard over the next 2 season. All bats that LSA purchases starting this season will meet this new safety standard known as BPF 1.15. We will not require that personal bats meet this standard for the 2013 season, but beginning in 2014, all bats used (whether LSA-supplied or personal) will be required to meet this standard and be marked accordingly. The bat will need to be marked with the BPF 1.15 logo which looks like:
